Colleges

Learn2Book has been enthusiastically received into a number of colleges throughout the country including Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) in Travel and Tourism and those with an OFSTED rating 1 (Outstanding). Colleges have been using Learn2Book to successfully complement the delivery of a range of Travel qualifications.

On completion of the training course, successful students may be awarded a Learn2Book certificate. A number of colleges have held Award Ceremonies to celebrate their students’ achievements.

As well as complementing current Travel qualifications, Learn2Book is being used to positively support and enhance the experience of students on the 14-19 curriculum as well as helping colleges meet their I.T. targets.

One of the four key priorities of the 14-19 curriculum is:
"...stronger vocational routes where young people develop through practical experience"
White Paper, 14-19 Education and Skills, February 2005.
"work-related learning is a significant aspect of the 14-19 curriculum"
QCA, 14-19 Learning
"...students require up-to-date work-related skills, in practical environments relevant to the vocational area"
QCA, 14-19 Learning
"...thanks again for developing such a useful piece of software- it is going to prove invaluable over the coming years in preparing the students for the world of work"
Sally Plastow, Lecturer in Travel and Tourism, Castle College (formerly Broxtowe College) Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) Travel and Tourism
"What I liked in particular is how realistic it is. It mirrors the provision of tour operators' systems such as Thomson, Thomas Cook, Airtours and First Choice and it also allows realistic assessment of tour operators' reservation procedures across a range of travel units."
Avril Shennan, Assistant Head of Division, Sport and Tourism, Glasgow Metropolitan College
"It is great to see software that resembles a real tour operators system."
Lynn Downham, Lecturer in Travel and Tourism, Glasgow Metropolitan College
